I soon plan to might someday offer a photo tour of Macon's former Riverside Cinemas 4 theatre (now a furniture store). I will also explain the projection room duties and compare the projection room of RC4 with that of a newer theatre with more modern projectors.
In the meantime, you can take a look at the photos without commentary in the theatre gallery. Be sure to click on a small image to see the larger version.
I took the b/w photos of RC4 back in 1997 before its closing. I took the color RC4 photos probably sometime in 1994 or '95, which was before I became interested in photography. At that time I simply wanted to take some snapshots as a keepsake and to show others where I worked. The last 5 color photos displayed in the gallery show the projection room of the newer Macon Mall 8 theatre (later renamed Colonial Mall 8) for comparison purposes. Colonial Mall 8 has since closed its doors as well. I took these photos sometime in 1998.
